SpeakMasri is an app that teaches real spoken Egyptian Arabic (Masri) - the way people actually talk at home with family and friends, not the formal textbook language you learned in school.
Instead of drilling you on abstract grammar or newsreader phrases, SpeakMasri drops you into everyday situations with your partner, in-laws, and friends, so you can:

What is Egyptian Arabic / Masri? How is it different from Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)?
Egyptian Arabic (Masri) is the everyday dialect most Egyptians actually speak at home, on the street, and online. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is the formal, standardized language you'll find in textbooks, news broadcasts, and exams.
They're related, but not interchangeable:
- MSA is great for reading and formal contexts.

How long are the lessons?
SpeakMasri lessons are short on purpose:

What kind of phrases will I learn?
SpeakMasri is built around real relationship and family language, not random travel phrases.

Do I need any Arabic background to start?
No prior Arabic is required.
SpeakMasri is designed for complete beginners who may not read Arabic script yet. You'll see Masri written in ways that are easy to sound out (Franco-Arabic transliteration), and you can build from there at your own pace.
